Again another poorly thought out question mixing items that are separate There is a giant difference in the types of farming that is being done in the USA & in our State & each of these farms have different needs & needs to be addressed separately Small Family Farms need assistance & protection from both corporate farms as well as the banks which can use predatory measures against them

We need to increase smart farming in America and we can only accomplish that by ending subsidies to big corporations and invest those funds in small and urban farms. Instead of giving people a fish for the day--we need to teach them how to raise fish and vegetables so that they can grow their own food each day and feed their families and the local community!

Farmers need to know that the state is willing to do their part to assist our local farmers with their needs. District 8 is one of the Agricultural Capitals of the World, and everything grows in District 8. We need to ensure our farmers are supported, and that they are apart of trade agreements, local, state, and national that can benefit District 8.

I strongly support small local owned farms and produce supplied directly to the community. I have strong reservations against large production where migrant labor is used and conditions are not humane. I also have reservations against inhumane treatment of animals which is common in large production farms.
