Gun Control

Q: What is your stand on gun control? A: "Gun’s," do not have a brain. All those that want to have a gun, should be educated, and be mentally awake to take responsibility for their actions in owning a gun and whom should use their guns and in what environments.

I believe that assault weapons should be banned nationwide, The gun show loophole should be closed to prevent private sellers from selling firearms without background checks. We have to address the mental health issues in this country, to solve some of the root causes of gun-related violent crime.

There should be stricter guidelines established in order to keep all Citizens safe as well as eliminate those in harm's way from particularly dangerous off-market guns & weapons posing a serious threat to all including those in Public Safety protecting & serving our communities. Mandatory ongoing psychological & continuing education along with screenings for new & existing owners of guns are key.

Let me first say I believe in the 2nd Amendment. I just do not feel you need a machine gun to protect your home. If you want to play army ENLIST. My goodness, what kind of deer takes an AR15 to take it down? if you are that bad of a shot, maybe you should not play with a gun.

Our rights cannot be pick and choose. Today its guns tomorrow it is something else. We need to stand firm in our constitutional rights and uphold our democracy. Gun owners, collectors, and advocate should have the right to bear arms. Creating gun control is as useless to our freedoms as a dried out marker. When I am township supervisor I will strongly oppose any gun control related efforts.
