Affordable Housing

The signs of a housing crisis are all around us. Redfin, a Seattle based internet real state site, reported that homes are selling within a few weeks and at 10% to 15% above asking. The 2016 Point in Time count in Snohomish County showed an increase in the number of unsheltered persons over last year’s count. A person earning minimum wage is unable to afford even basic housing.

All housing must be under the control of the free market, completely. No gov't fees, permits, licenses, taxes, regulations etc.

As a community, we should be working together to shelter the homeless. Any of us could find yourself homeless due to a loss of employment or a major medical issue. I support the “Housing First” model and the WLIHA.org legislative agenda and plan to focus on supporting and funding programs like San Francisco’s Navigation Center.
