I strongly support the 2nd Amendment and the right of people to bear arms. e need to check of course that people with mental issues do not have access to weapons, but I would not mind that more people, who are trained (former police, military, etc...), should have the right to carry (concealed or open). I do believe that maybe a better background check should be performed on those seeking guns.

Responsible citizens have the right to defend their lives and families even with deadly force if necessary. Hunting is also a loved sport and way of life for some. It is an American value. Guns are a hobby for many. Defending our freedom is also important from (God forbid) a tyrannical government, civil war, and invasion of foreign enemies. For this reason, no limit on assault weapons.

Gun-control doesn't stop criminals, it restricts law-abiding citizens and is in most cases unconstitutional.

Our Founding Fathers knew, and our Supreme Court has upheld, that the Second Amendment’s purpose is to guarantee our right to defend ourselves and our families . . . We are the only country in the world that has a Second Amendment. Protecting that freedom is imperative.

The last rating I got from the NRA ... was an F. ... In my state of Vermont we are a very rural state, but guns are about hunting, target practice, antique guns, and we have a pretty low crime rate. Guns in Baltimore and guns in Los Angeles are very different. I have voted against the importation of assault weapons and I understand that not every part of America is the state of Vermont.

The problem is, I don’t think a lack of gun laws . . . if you focus on the guns you’re missing the bigger picture which is the fact that people have been isolated [and] estranged. Trying to take away guns I don’t think is going to solve this problem.
