It is NOT the proper role of government to engage in social and economic engineering for the purpose of manipulating the energy marketplace or creating winners and losers in what should be a robust free market. Preventing a polluter from harming our water or air is one thing. Deciding in Washington, DC, that one source of energy should be subsidized and others penalized is a different matter.

How could we do such a thing? We could do that by utilizing even more of our natural resources that God already put in the ground–this includes finding more environmentally friendly solutions to extracting oil and gas energies. The additional tax revenue that could be created from these new developments along with the government focused directly on increasing more revenue through the production.
