I am running for State Assembly to protect the interests of the underserved and fight hard to bring back the middle class. I live in Westminster and own a law office in Huntington Beach. As a consumer law attorney for 15 years, I have fought hard for consumer rights for the people and small business. I earned my BA degree in Economics from CSULB and earned my JD degree from McGeorge School of Law. As your Assemblyperson I promise to fight for you. Let's end income inequality/support living wages. Support our teachers/reform student loans. Decriminalize marijuana. Fight Wall Street & more.
Income Inequality and Living wage
“I strongly support the abolition of income inequality. I also fully support a living wage for everyone. A person who works 40 hours per week should be able to make enough to purchase decent food, shelter and clothing. They should be able to afford childcare and be able to accumulate some savings. That is not the reality today. Today many people are working more than one job to make ends meet.”
“I am proud of the fact that I have fought for social justice for the people for the past 15 years in the judicial system and will continue that fight in the Legislature if elected.”
“We need student loan reform in this country. An entire generation was duped into believing that they could obtain a higher education and get ahead in life if they took out student loans. Many of them are still working or will work past the age of retirement to pay those loans off. When student loans place people into any form of involuntary servitude, reform is necessary.”
“Teachers cannot teach children who do not have adequate nutrition and a safe environment. Children cannot learn equally when some teachers have to pull money out of their own pocketbook to provide the students with learning materials. There are 55,000 est. jobs that will go unfilled in the computer field. Provide these skills as part of a primary education. Also bring back vocational education.”
Decriminalization of Marijuana
“Decriminalization of marijuana has been adopted as part of the Democratic platform and several measures are vying to be on the November 2016 ballot. I fully support the Democratic platform including the decriminalization of marijuana.”
Holding Wall Street Accountable
“I strongly support holding Wall Street banks fully responsible for the financial crises caused in 2008 and all of the adverse effects that came from it. If the banks are too big, then they should be broken up, not subsidized.”
