My name is John Moore and I am running for Village of South Lebanon Council in the fall of 2017. I plan to bring a proactive and willingness attitude to the council that will look at current issues seen by the public including but not limited to Drugs, Taxes, Fees for Service and Safety. I am was born a resident of South Lebanon and have strong family ties as well as friends that resident in the area. It will be my #1 goal to help streamline the lines of communications between elected officials and the public after all we are here to serve your needs. If you have questions please let me know.
“Drugs and Sex Crimes must be stopped at all costs to ensure safety for future generations of any village/town/city. Drugs touch everyone's family whether they want to admit it or not. It is not proper to shame anyone but to help find them help before another life is lost to Drugs and Sex Crimes. Normally in an area where Drugs are prominent so are Sex Crimes. We must be proactive to the issue.”
“To support all three levels of government- Federal, State and Local- we must pay taxes. However it is the job of Council Members to ensure that the taxes are used in the best possible manner to service the public. The local government should be able to self finance all projects without bonds, increases in taxes or borrowing money over time. A government that can do as such is financially stable. ”
“I believe that everyone should have the right to their own religious practices but they should not interfere or over ride any one else's belief. WE must respect each other and local government should ensure that each person's religious rights are not violated nor ignored. ”
“We as a village must be able to maintain, forecast for growth and make repairs to the current infrastructure for the public. IF we allow sewers, water lines and street to go un-maintained the cost would be 5 times the normal cost to bring back to acceptable levels. As we budget each year we need to make sure we are allowing/forecasting for growth and changes to ensure the best infrastructure.”
“I believe that it is necessary to support all laws that help improve as well as maintain public safety. If laws are not enforced it could lead to very serious conditions/death. I believe balanced laws can be used to protect both the community as well as the residents there of. However there is another side in which residents must support their local sheriff deputies and help them to ensure safety.”
