Entrepreneurship

“Entrepreneurship is the lifeblood of capitalism. As Mayor I want the City of Connersville to lead the way in new job creation by making opening businesses easier. I want to assist when needed and get out of the way when government doesn't need to be involved. Creating new ventures and new capital investment is how we grow as a City. 80% of growth comes from within and we want to make it easier. ”

Fiscal Responsibility

“When I was elected Mayor, Connersville was in a financial emergency. We pulled out of emergency and have been able to buy new equipment free and clear with responsible budgeting. We have new firetrucks, ambulances, and police cars while living within our means. I will continue to get our first responders the equipment they need while living within our means. ”

Parks and Recreation

“We are blessed with several parks within our City System. As Mayor, my vision is to expand these offerings by creating a trail system, moving forward on River's Edge, and revamping and revitalizing our neighborhood parks such as Offutt's Park and 2nd Street Jaycees Park. Recreation plays a key role in economic development and quality of life. As Mayor, I want to improve the quality of life for all”

Property Blight

“In my time as Mayor, the city has done more to combat blight than any previous administration in recent memory. We are committed to cleaning up dilapidated properties and ensuring that those who live near a dilapidated property see in cleanup. We are working to strongly enforce existing ordinances and hope to create a pride of ownership once again in the City of Connersville. ”

Roads

“I have developed a comprehensive paving plan for the City of Connersville. As the Community Crossings Grant continues as does our commitment to make sure every road in Connersville gets resurfaced in neighborhoods. In 2019 the city is spending $1,059,000 on road paving. My plan, after 8 years, will have nearly every roadway paved in Connersville. ”

Police officers & equipment

“Equipping our LEOs with the right tools will make everyone safer. We are in the middle of an opiate crisis. Our LEOs need to the tools to fight the epidemic. They are our first lines of defense for the problem. We should give them the tools they need. ”

Roads

“When my term as Mayor began in 2016, one of the first things I did was evaluate roads. The honest opinions I got rated our roads D- or worse. We have implemented a plan to fix the roads in the worst shape with the funds that are available. If we had the funds all roads would be fixed. This will take lots of time and effort to improve our city streets in the near future. ”

Public Safety

“We need to equip our LEOs with the tools needed to combat the drug epidemic. It is not a problem we will arrest our way out of, but our LEOs are our first line of defense. We need law enforcement to work with other agencies to help those who want help and ensure the safety for all citizens in Connersville. ”
